could my 2002 ford explorer shifty really bad be the transmission control module?

my truck is a 2002 ford explorer and i just got it back from the transmission shop i replaced the transmission with a salvaged unit and i got a new transfer case...the mechanic said the tranny drove fine in the other truck but once in my truck it shifted just like the other transmission that was in there he says hes 80% sure its the transmission control module but i think he might be trying to mess me over

this vehicle does not use a transmission control module (TCM). the (PCM) controls the trany. i can't say for sure,but i can try to help u with the info u gave.i would say that the keep alive memory needs to be cleared and the vehicle needs to learn strategy again. this would have to be done by a ford dealer but u can try this first disconnect the battery for 5 min. then start th vehicle.with your foot on the brakeshift from park 2 reverse 4 times ending with park. then shift from park 2 dive 4 times ending in park. then shift from reverse to drive 4 times. after this drive he vehicle on the hwy above 50 mph for 2 miles. this should allow the vehicle to adapt. good luck.
